One Million Miles of Travel!

million miles of cancer support

We could not have reached this milestone without our all-Volunteer Board of Directors, and our all-Volunteer Drivers. They are dedicated to Sierra County to provide FREE Transportation to our Cancer Patients.

Because of the community support SCCA is able to provide our volunteer drivers with gas money for the round trips to Albuquerque, and Las Cruces.

Through Fundraisers, Donations, and Sponsorships we hope To be able to support our support our Cancer Survivors for years to come.

We had a GREAT fund raiser, thank you for your support!

SCCA board members 2019

Sierra County Cancer Assistance has been providing free transportation for Sierra County residents, to cancer patients needing chemo, radiation treatments, doctor appointments, and testing for 10 years. We have driven over 800,000 miles and made approximately 5,500 round trips to either Las Cruces, or Albuquerque.

We could not do this without our communities support. Our fund raisers, private donations, and the best volunteers in the County have been the only things that have kept us going. We provide Volunteer drivers, if needed, and gas money for these stressful trips, sometimes daily.

This year’s fund raiser theme “cancer sucks” was a great success. SCCA wants to thank everyone who donated their time, gave wonderful auction items, provided great food by BEDROX, music by Sue Barr, live auction with Willard, Shattuck Vineyard’s wonderful local wine, yummy homemade pies, and fun. Our sponsorship drive has shown us your commitment to what we are doing. Thank you again from our Board of Directors for being there for us. Call Steph at 575-740-3971 if you would like to volunteer, donate, or have questions.

Youth’s Generosity

donation to SCCASCCA had a wonderful surprise this last Saturday at the Farmers Market. Connie Baca called and mentioned her grandson was raising spare change to give for cancer. She wanted him to give it to Sierra County Cancer Assistance.

Cason Baca Clark, age 7, started on a mission to gather as much change as possible and present to SCCA.

There is so much giving in the hearts of children, and Cason we cannot thank you enough for your generous donation of $50.00. You have helped provide free transportation for a cancer patient to Las Cruces.
